Mariachi Alacran is a tight-knit group of students who are afforded many performance opportunities around the campus and within the community.
Course Description
Mariachi is a traditional music of Mexican culture, incorporating a rhythm section that comprises guitarron, guitar and vihuela, a violin section, trumpets and singers. The Mariachi class welcomes students of all levels or even no musical experience. This ensemble performs at several concerts throughout the year along with the rest of the Music Department. For the 2016-2017 school year, the Mariachi Alacran includes Dominic and Tony Rivera as primary instructors, as well as Mr. John Sachs as the class adviser. The Mariachi class meets daily during 3rd Period in the Music Room (F-2).

Mariachi welcomes students with instrument and/or singing experience, as well as beginners. The course explores many culturally significant styles including Mariachi during the year. This ensemble performs approximately three times throughout the year.
Performance Attire
Mariachi students are required to wear a department-provided uniform detailed and designed for the Adolfo Camarillo High School Mariachi ensemble to all performances.
