Senior Spotlight: Melyssa Prouty

Mel has been an asset in Vocal Ensemble and to the Drama Dept. in which she is highly involved. She will be attending the American Musical and Dramatic Academy to major in Acting. If she had a gap year, she would visit the forests of Iceland.

Instruments: Voice

Plan for the future: Attending AMDA College of Performing Arts, Los Angeles for my second semester. My major is acting, my focus is to get my BFA.

Travel aspirations: If I did take a gap year, I'd love to visit the forests in Vaglasko, Iceland.

Proudest accomplishment: Getting to meet others who love and support me for me.

Favorite Memory: Sitting in the drama room eating lunch and playing Uno.

Favorite musical piece/tune from high school: “Boy and a Girl “(even though we never finished it, I still loved the dark mood it set).

Most underappreciated thing about high school: Mr. Storer's Enlgish class

Quarantine activities: Focusing on getting ready for college and blasting music through the house.

What I've been watching in quarantine: “Castlevania”

What part of the ACHS Music Program has had the most impact on you and why? The aspect of studying music rather than just singing the notes. We got to focus on ranges and how to read music, something my old school didn't really pay attention to, even though I wanted to learn more.

What would you say to your freshman self about the Music program if you could? Don't complain to your mom about doing choir dude, you're going to fall in love with it.
