Senior Spotlight: Max Volkan

A member of our String Orchestra and String Quartet, Max has been an incredible Violinist and member of our program. He will be attending UC Santa Cruz in the fall to major in Computer Science.

Instruments: Violin

Plan for the future: I will be attending UC Santa Cruz and majoring in Computer Science

Travel aspirations: Japan

Proudest accomplishment: Doing multiple internships during school.

Favorite Memory: Finding out Ken was in my quartet group for orchestra.

Favorite musical piece/tune from high school: “Marche Slav”

Most underappreciated thing about high school: Having a designated time to do your work rather than just letting it be on me.

Quarantine activities: Running, talking with friends online, and ruining my sleep schedule.

What I've been watching in quarantine: “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood”

What part of the ACHS Music Program has had the most impact on you and why? In general, probably just my classmates because they give me quite some competition and without knowing have pushed me to become better.

What would you say to your freshman self about the Music program if you could? Join orchestra in freshman year and not in sophomore year.
