Senior Spotlight: Ken Kawaichi

Ken is one of 3 ACHS seniors attending UC Santa Cruz next fall. He will be majoring in Business Management and Economics. While others may have something else to say on the subject, he feels pit is absolutely the best section in the ensemble.

Instruments: Violin, viola and percussion

Plan for the future: I will be attending the University of California, Santa Cruze, and majoring in Business Management Economics

Travel aspirations: Japan

Proudest accomplishment: Passing my first AP test

Favorite Memory: When I went to Halloween horror night with my friends. They all hid from me when I wasn't looking and left me to pay for my Icee as I was oblivious to the monsters waiting to jump scare me.

Favorite musical piece/tune from high school: “Danza”

Most underappreciated thing about high school: Nutrition

Quarantine activities: Playing video games, watching TV, and talking online with friends.

What I've been watching in quarantine: “Attack on Titan”

What part of the ACHS Music Program has had the most impact on you and why? The Marching Band has had the biggest impact on me because I've met some of my best friends, best laughs, and made the best memories as a part of the front ensemble.

What would you say to your freshman self about the Music program if you could? Never ever leave pit. Best section no cap.
