Senior Spotlight: Kaylie Pritchard
Kaylie, our Drum Major, will be attend CSUN, University (it's an inside joke) to major in Psychology. Like many students, she has destroyed her sleep schedule during quarantine but also has gotten into baking. Her her favorite memory is how she smiled from ear to ear during the fall show's last movement while on the podium at the Moorpark Battle of the Bands.

Instruments: Saxophone
Plan for the future: I will be attending California State University, Northridge and majoring in Psychology.
Travel aspirations: France
Proudest accomplishment: Being able to receive a Dedicated and Distinguished Honors award at the 2019 Banquet!
Favorite Memory: Watching the Marching Band perform the last performance at the Moorpark Competition. Standing on the podium and feeling the music, and seeing the hard work we’ve put in. It felt like time slowed down in the moment and I couldn’t help but smile during the last minute of the show.
Favorite musical piece/tune from high school: “Exultate” :)
Most underappreciated thing about high school: Being the last person at any event with your friends, there something different about being the last people and just appreciating the moment.
Quarantine activities: Other than messing up my sleep schedule, I have been doing a lot of baking - scones, macarons, chocolate truffles, homemade doughnut holes (the list goes on). Watching shows, reconnecting with old friends (online of course). Basically, trying to keep my sanity.
What I've been watching in quarantine: I don’t think I really binged any shows ... other than being on YouTube
What part of the ACHS Music Program has had the most impact on you and why? Marching Band. It’s so much time and effort in such a short amount of time. I’ve made so many memories in Marching Band and made amazing friends through it. It also made me grow up a little, so I’m grateful for that.
What would you say to your freshman self about the Music program if you could? Don’t be scared just do it!!!!
