Senior Spotlight: Gabe Hoffman
Gabe is the last of a rare breed of five-year members of the program. Joining the front ensemble as an eighth-grader, Gabe moved to the role of Bass 5 and ultimately landed on tenors as co-drum captain. Gabe is pursuing the field of Music Industry.

Instruments: Percussion
Plan for the future: I will be attending Moorpark College in the fall to study Music and from there go on to CSUN’s Music Industry program.
Travel aspirations: Somewhere either tropical or in Europe. Maybe Bali or France.
Proudest accomplishment: Going to finals for Winter Drumline.
Favorite Memory: Definitely breaking my ankle the day before the Sounds of Conejo exhibition show.
Favorite musical piece/tune from high school: “Boom Boom Gallop” for sure.
Most underappreciated thing about high school: Playing in the band at football games, kind of tough in the moment but they’ve provided some good fun.
Quarantine activities: Watching YouTube and playing games. I’ve found some real interesting musicians on YouTube.
What I've been watching in quarantine: 100% “Tiger King”
What part of the ACHS Music Program has had the most impact on you and why? I’d say Marching Band has had the most impact on me, it’s shaped who I am for the last five years and there is no way that I’d be who I am today without that part of the program.
What would you say to your freshman self about the Music program if you could? Oh wow. As exhausting and time-consuming as it all is, it’s going to be the most fun you have in high school.
