Senior Spotlight: Francis Siu

Francis is Pit Captain and an Orchestra member. She will attend CSUN and major in Biology. Her stand-out memory is stopping at Sonic on the way home from SCPA prelims whenthe bus broke down so all the students had to Uber home.

Instruments: Percussion

Plan for the future: Starting freshman year at CSUN and majoring in Biology, but I will probably switch majors at one point.

Travel aspirations: Kyoto, Japan

Proudest accomplishment: The amount of self-growth and improving as a musician

Favorite Memory: SCPA prelims 2019 - our bus broke down after we stopped at Sonic, and we had to take Ubers home. Not exactly a single favorite, but one of the most memorable.

Favorite musical piece/tune from high school: “Slane” - we played this in orchestra.

Most underappreciated thing about high school: Seeing my friends and the people in my section every day.

Quarantine activities: Learning recorder

What I've been watching in quarantine: “Avatar: The Last Airbender”

What part of the ACHS Music Program has had the most impact on you and why? Every ensemble I’ve been a part of and all the people and staff. Whether it was teaching me how to hold mallets or one of the clarinet players that helped me push my marimba up the hill, they all made an impact.

What would you say to your freshman self about the Music program if you could? I’d probably tell my freshman self to join the Music program earlier.
