Scorps earn Sweepstakes in Music, sweep division

The Marching Scorpions took First Place in all captions of the 4A division during their Palmdale Field Tournament on Saturday at Palmdale High School. They had the second-highest score for the entire tournament in nearly all categories, except Music Performance, where they took overall Tournament Sweepstakes.
"Despite being a week earlier than our first competitive performance last year, our score was about three points higher," Director Daniel Cook said. "Taking sweepstakes in music is a huge accomplishment, but more importantly, they made huge strides this past week to improve over their Sounds of Conejo performance.
The next competition is the Royal Classic, Oct. 12 at Simi Valley Royal High School. We will need a full contingent of competition volunteers and a few people to help make lunches for the students on Saturday. There is room on the bus for 18 Boosters (6 on each bus).
