High School Honor Band Opportunities Advanced students can audition for the California Band Directors Association All State Bands (www.cbda.org), Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association All Southern California Bands (www.scsboa.org/honorgroups/honorgroups.htm), Pasadena Tournament of Roses Honor Band (http://pccband.com/tofr/index.php?secID=tofr) and Ventura County Honor Bands (www.vchb.org). The music and scales that will be required for all the 2011-12 auditions are posted on the CBDA website (www.cbda.org). Summer is a perfect time to take lessons and practice! About Symphonic Band - This band is for the more advanced players and plays more challenging music than the Concert Band. This band is by audition only. For 2011/2012, the fundraising goal per student is $50 (entry fees, transportation, music) plus tux or long concert dress.
