Music Director

Cameron Guerrero began is work with the Music Department at Adolfo Camarillo High School in 2018 and was formerly the Director of Bands and Orchestras at Granada Hills Charter High School in the San Fernando Valley. He has toured with the Blue Devils  Drum and Bugle Corps administrative team as a Corps Manager since 2018. Guerrero spent the majority of the 2018 season as the Visual Caption Head for the Blue Devils "B" Drum and Bugle Corps, where he helped lead the group to the "Best Visual Performance award at the DCI Open Class Championships.

A Fresno, native, Guerrero attended Clovis West High School, where he played trumpet in its Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Jazz I, and Symphony Orchestra and cymbals (his senior year) in its Indoor Percussion Ensemble. While at CWHS, its ensembles placed twice in the Bands of America Utah Regional Championships, performed at the California All-State Music Education Conference, and traveled to Indianapolis for the Music for All National Concert Band Festival. Guerrero was taught by David Lesser and John Lack, and he received private trumpet lessons from Darrel Madeiros and Eric Cymanski, leading to his acceptance to California All-State Bands in 2008-2010.

Guerrero received his bachelor of music degree in Music Education in 2013 from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. At CWU, He performed with its three concert bands, three jazz bands, symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, brass choir, and trumpet choir with which he twice was accepted to and competed in the National Trumpet Competition in Washington, D.C. Guerrero taught the CWU Wildcat Marching Band from 2012-2013 and completed his student teaching with Alec Wilmart at Kellogg Middle School in Shoreline, Washington.

From 2010-2013, Mr. Guerrero performed in the trumpet section with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps, winning two Drum Corps International World Championships and two silver medals. In 2013, he performed as a trumpet soloist for the re:Rite of Spring and received the “MVP Visual” award. Later, he went on to perform as a "marching staff member" for the Blue Devils International tour of Europe in 2015 as well as with Blue Devils Entertainment for miscellaneous television shows and professional events.

Guerrero’s professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the California Band Directors Association (CBDA), and the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA).
