Band Camp 

Band camp is a great time for students to create bonds that last a lifetime 

There are three band camps scheduled during the summer. The first is primarily for new students, percussion, color guard and student leadership. The second is a one-day camp for fair preparation and the third, which is mandatory, is a two-week stint in August before school starts where the first movement of the season's show is learned. Band Camp allows new students to get acclimated to the campus and build a core group of friends prior to starting their high school career, adding to their comfort and success at ACHS.

2019 Summer Band Camp Dates
and rehearsals

All students (including incoming freshmen and Rancho Compana High School students) who wish to participate in ACHS Marching Band or Color Guard in the Fall should attend. Meet in the ACHS Music Room. 

 

Band Camp I

June 17- 19 for incoming freshmen, new students, percussion, color guard and leadership

 

Percussion Rehearsals

  • 6-9 p.m., June 20-21

  • 6-9 p.m., July 25-25

Color Guard Summer Rehearsals

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 9 through Aug. 1 - 6 - 9 p.m.

​Band Camp II

  • Aug. 12-16, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

  • Aug. 19-22, 11:30 a.m. -  9 p.m.

  • Aug. 23, 11:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.

  • Aug 23 - 6 p.m., Family show preview More details will come home with students.

 

Parent information meetings

  • May 22 - Parent Meeting, at 6 p.m., please see Calendar.

  • Aug. 17 - Music Dept. Orientation  This is a taking-care-of -business day to allow one -stop shopping for band gear (Uniform/concert attire fittings and orders, equipment orders, contribution payment, family work day and volunteer sign-ups) for ALL students and parents in the music program. At least one parent should attend with student. Please see Calendar for start times for your class.

What to wear:
  • Shorts/sweatpants
    (light clothing, no jeans)

  • Athletic shoes 
    (no flip flops or sandals)

  • Hat

  • Sunglasses

  • Bring a jacket for morning and/or evening.

 
What to bring:
  • Instrument​

  • Music

  • Dot book and pencil

  • Sunscreen (apply often)

  • Plenty of water

  • Sack Lunch (Eat a good breakfast, too). Bringing your own lunch is encouraged, but you will have ample time to walk to a local food establishment. 

  • Cash - Drinks, candy and snacks may be for sale in the Snack Shack.
